ABOUT
Madeleine Reid is a Lighting Designer, Associate Lighting Designer, and Draftsman currently based in the Chicago and Houston area. She revels in being able to use lighting design as a medium to evoke emotions, reveal truths, and bring unique perspectives to audiences.
Madeleine has had the pleasure to work with companies including Repertory Theatre St. Louis, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Production Resource Group (47th St.), Chicago Children's Theatre, Goodman Theatre, Utah Shakespeare Festival, Rec Room (Houston, TX), Oregon Shakespeare Festival, The Dallas Opera, and The Alley Theatre.
Recently she was awarded as a finalist for Best Lighting Design for the 2022 Houston Theatre Awards.
She has experience designing in a variety of venue configurations, working in rep, leading union and non-union crews, facilitating cross-departmental communication, generating and maintaining show documentation, and follow-spot tracking.
She received her B.F.A. in Lighting Design with a Minor in Business from the Sargent Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with Department Honors.
When she isn't designing, drafting, or creating/updating paperwork, Madeleine enjoys drawing, painting, PC gaming, and trying new foods, local breweries, and coffee shops.
